The Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship is seeking a motivated and innovative undergraduate intern to assist in enhancing and promoting the Engineering Entrepreneurship Certificate program. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering and entrepreneurship, contributing directly to the growth and success of a key educational initiative.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities: Increase Awareness: - Develop and implement strategies to increase visibility and awareness of the Engineering Entrepreneurship Certificate among undergraduate MIT engineering students. - Create and distribute promotional materials, both digital and physical, to highlight the benefits and opportunities of the certificate program. - Organize informational sessions, workshops, and events to educate students about the certificate program and its value. Enhance Engagement: - Foster a community of students interested in engineering entrepreneurship by coordinating networking events, speaker series, and educational opportunities. - Maintain and manage online platforms (e.g., social media, whatsapp, website) to keep students informed and engaged with the program. - Solicit feedback from current and prospective certificate students to understand their needs and interests, and tailor engagement efforts accordingly. - Increase enrollment in the program from 86 students (currently) to 140+ students. Improve Program Quality: - Conduct PMR to identify ways we can increase value through the Engineering Entrepreneurship Certificate. - Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address any gaps or areas for improvement in the program. - Support the evaluation and reporting of program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with student needs.
Qualifications: - Must be a current undergraduate student in the School of Engineering at MIT. - Must be currently enrolled in, or applying to, the Engineering Entrepreneurship Certificate program. - Strong interest in entrepreneurship and the intersection of engineering and business. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and take initiative. - Experience in marketing, event planning, or program management is a plus. - Proficiency in digital tools and social media platforms. - Must not exceed 17 hours/week of other MIT employment (other internships, TA positions, etc.) during the duration of this internship.
